- Activate the Yeast (Bowl 1): In a bowl, combine white sugar, yeast, and warm milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Prepare the Dry Ingredients (Bowl 2): In a separate bowl, mix 300g of all-purpose flour with salt.
- Start Mixing the Dough: Add half of the flour mixture (Bowl 2) to the yeast mixture (Bowl 1) and stir until combined. Then add vanilla extract, half of the butter, and the egg. Mix well.
- Incorporate Remaining Ingredients: Add the remaining flour mixture, along with the rest of the butter and egg. Mix until a rough dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Knead the dough, using the remaining 50g of all-purpose flour to prevent sticking. Knead until smooth and elastic. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
- Shape and Fill the Dough: Flatten the dough into a rectangular shape. Spread a mixture of butter and vanilla over the surface. Fold the dough into thirds (like folding a letter).
- Divide and Shape: Cut the dough into 9 equal pieces. For each piece, shape it into a vertical log. Slice each piece lengthwise into 3 strips, leaving the top part intact. Braid the strips, then roll into a spiral. Repeat with the remaining pieces.
- Prepare for Air Frying: Line the fryer with parchment paper. Place the shaped dough pieces inside.
- Cook: Air Fry at 150°C for 8 minutes. Let them rest inside the fryer for another 5 minutes after cooking.
- Finish and Serve: Place the freshly cooked bread on a plate. Brush the tops with melted butter. Serve and enjoy!
