Recipe compatible with:

Ingredients

  • 250g thin‑cut minute steak, sliced into strips
  • ½ tsp Chinese five‑spice powder
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar (or any sweetener of your choice)
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (plus drizzle for beef)
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 thumb‑sized ginger, cut into matchsticks
  • 1 red chilli, sliced
  • 1 red pepper, cut into chunks
  • 4 spring onions, sliced (white and green parts separated)
  • 4 tbsp rice wine vinegar (or white vinegar)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup

Instructions

Marinate beef: Mix five‑spice, soy, sesame oil, and sugar. Toss beef strips, cover, and chill (optional, up to 24 hrs).

Coat the beef: Sprinkle cornstarch over the beef, separate into strips, and drizzle with oil.

Air fry the beef: Place the beef in the Zone 1 basket of your Ninja Dual Zone Air Fryer. Cook at 200°C for 6 minutes, then shake/turn. Cook for an additional 4–6 minutes, or until crispy.

Cook the sauce: While the beef cooks, heat oil in a wok/pan. Stir‑fry garlic, ginger, chilli, pepper, and white spring onions for 2–3 minutes. Add vinegar, soy, sweet chilli, and ketchup. Cook until bubbling.

Combine: Toss crispy beef into the sauce, cook 1 minute more. Garnish with green spring onions.

BONUS TIP: Use Zone 2 for air‑frying red pepper chunks if you prefer them roasted instead of stir‑fried.
