AIR FRYED STICKY PORK BELLY

AIR FRY: 40-45 MINUTES

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1kg piece boneless pork belly
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp plain flour
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Olive oil spray50g butter
  • 2 tbsp golden (melted) syrup
  • 2 tbsp barbecue sauce
  • 1 tbsp bourbon
  • 2 tsp sriracha

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Cut pork belly into 4cm pieces. Place in a bowl.
  • Combine sugar, paprika, flour, onion, and garlic powder in a bowl. Sprinkle evenly over pork, tossing to coat. Place in the fridge for 2 hours (do not cover the pork with plastic wrap as it needs to dry out).
  • Preheat your Ninja air fryer to 200°C. Spray pork liberally with oil, and season well.
  • Place half the pork in the air fryer basket. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking, or until just starting to char and the pork is cooked through. Transfer to a bowl. Repeat with remaining pork.
  • Meanwhile, make the sticky golden syrup sauce. Place butter, golden syrup, barbecue sauce, bourbon, and sriracha in a small saucepan over medium heat. Season. Cook, stirring, for 2 to 3 minutes or until mixture is melted and smooth.
  • Bring to a simmer. Simmer for 3 to 4 minutes or until sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
  • Drizzle the pork with the sauce to serve. Enjoy!
